Student Assignments

On this page I will update you on the latest assignment that the student's are working on. It will be used by the students as their assignment guide as well.

Assignment 1

For our first assignment students will post as a historical figure from the revolutionary era. In class we have been studying the events leading up to and the events of the American Revolution. In class students will choose one figure from the revolutionary era and create several blog posts as if they are writing a letter about their experiences during the Revolution. Students will be working in pairs on their posts.

When posting students will first have to identify who they are writing as and provide a short biography of their historical figure. After they have done this they will enter into character and write a post. Their posts may be short or long depending on what they are writing about. It is expected that students post at least once a day. In addition, while not required graphics and other supporting materials are welcomed.

Finally I must remind the students that these blogs are accessible to the world and therefore all posts should be school appropriate and students should not include any identifying information about themselves.

Assignment 2

We all have an issue which we think is important. It impacts us daily and if it was solved, we can live a better life. For this project, you must identify an issue that impacts American Society, one that you feel is of such great importance that you believe an Amendment to the Constitution is needed. What this issue is, I'm not sure. That part is totally up to you. You must research and then present your findings to the class. How you perform your presentation is totally up to you. You will be consulting with the teacher throughout the project to make sure that you are on the right track and have chosen an appropriate topic and method of presentation.
