Media Creation and Sharing

Glogster is a wonderful tool for classrooms teachers across disciplines and grade levels. It allows students and teachers to create "Glogs" which are digital interactive posters. Students can create a project using whatever materials they wish. It allows them to include multimedia resources from around the internet and from their local computer.

As part of an English class product, a Glog could be used to replace the traditional poster that may have accompanied a book report. The students could be required to include multiple different examples that express what the book meant to them. They could use specific examples or be more creative. The example below is what a teacher would show to their class as an exemplar of a direct interpretation and reflection on Lord of the Flies. It would be explained that they must include videos, images, links, and text. The more they include the better. However, they must make sure it all makes sense, looks visually appealing, and is relevant.

It is also possible that the student's will already have a blog running. In which case they will be allowed to embed the Glog into their site with a 2-3 paragraph description and explanation of their Glog. This will be allowed in lieu of submitting a paper assignment to the teacher to accompany their Glog.
